Parish Office and Community Hub Project

Portreath Parish Council are currently working on a project to demolish the old redundant, dilapidated toilet block and in its place build a modern parish office & community hub. This project will be delivered by Portreath Parish Council with funding being allocated from Cornwall Council’s Community Levelling Up Programme. The Community Levelling Up Programme is part of the Good Growth Programme, which is delivering the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Presently the parish council have no office and therefore this will development improve community access to the council. The pavement outside presently is narrow, just 90cms (2’ 11”) wide and two people cannot pass each other without one stepping into the road. This will be widened to a width of 204cms (6’9”) which will improve safety & accessibility to the new office and the in-use public toilets, as well as the adjacent bus stop.

Our final hurdle in securing the funding for this project is to carry out some further community consultation. Councillors and staff would really your perceptions of the existing arrangements.
